Carbon arc air gouging is a hot processing technology that uses the arc heat generated between the carbon rod and the workpiece to melt the metal, and uses compressed air to blow away the molten metal, so as to cut grooves on the metal.

 

Plasma air gouging uses high temperature and high speed plasma flow to heat, melt and blow away local metal.

 

Both plasma arc air gouging and carbon arc air gouging can be used to clean the weld of metal materials. However, carbon arc air gouging uses carbon rods, which will cause carburization on the surface of the base metal to a certain extent after use. The biggest difference between plasma air gouging and carbon arc air gouging is that plasma air gouging has no carburization. Therefore, after processing, plasma air gouging can eliminate the subsequent work of removing the carburized layer. Plasma air gouging has high energy density, concentrated arc and heat, good arc stiffness, and neat air gouging grooves. It is convenient for automatic or manual welding of the next pass. It can be equipped with semi-automatic trolley or professional swing arm trolley for automatic air gouging. So as to improve work efficiency and reduce costs.
